I recently rediscovered some really oldschool 'nederhop' (dutch hiphop) and I must say I'm really enjoying it!
Doom Open Beta
Installed the Doom Open Beta today and I must say I’m really looking forward to the final game.
I now have a soundcloud!

Drupal posts finally migrated!
I finally migrated my old Drupal blog posts to my octopress installation.
Today I installed a new site/blog called Octopress. It is what they call *A blogging framework for hackers* and I really seem to like it.
Zarafa Webapp and Pound Proxy
When using Zarafa with Pound problems can occur with the session data. To resolve this, add the following within the "Service" section of your Pound configuration.
Prefixer saves my day
I use my android phone for both private calls and calls to customers, sometimes when calling customers you just don’t want them to know your number. In android changing your caller ID is just a few clicks to far away, and until today no application is available for creating a shortcut on your homescreen to change this setting. This is where prefixer comes in and saves my day!
So lately I've been trying to switch from my favorite tiling window managers (wmii, awesome) to gnome-shell to try out what's new. One thing I always liked is being able to create some rules about specific programs being moved to a specific workspace automatically.
European Puppet Training
Open-Future and Reductive Labs are organizing an official Puppet Master training in Brussels.
Irssibook v0.3 released [Facebook GRAPH API implementation]
Since the old Facebook API is deprecated and the request for permissions from Irssibook to Facebook did not work anymore. I updated irssibook to use the latest Facebook GRAPH API with their OAUTH 2.0 integration.
Red Hat, KVM/Qemu, NXServer and keyboard layouts
A While ago, a customer of ours complained about the keyboard layout not working correctly in a KVM/Qemu guest when connecting with the virt-manager console view. And so... I started investigating.
Up and running again!
After losing my "VPS" (thank god I had a decent backup system!) I was able to find a new space in the world wide web to host my blog. This new server will gradually replace my old one.
Making a point
F\* you, NMBS ;-)
Change your wallpaper? Nah!
When running Windows 7 starter edition, you are simply not able to change your wallpaper. WTF?!?!
status dot net!
I installed my own status.net service!
KnowledgeTree universal installer problems on CentOS
When installing or migrating from KnowledgeTree (Document Management System) version 3.0.6 to 188.8.131.52 on CentOS using the KnowledgeTree universal installer one might run into the following issue; None of the Scheduler’s tasks get executed correctly.
My god, when will people learn not to click those spammy links :(

Protect your privacy
They want to store 6 to 12 months of data from internet users. Which connections are made, how long, how much data ... !!
New mobile number
The old company wouldn't let me keep my mobile number, so i've got a new one!
Today I started at my new employer Open-Future.
(Question) How to get CoPilot on your android phone?
What I did was, I **rooted** my HTC Magic. After your phone is rooted you can install an application called 'MarketEnabler'.
Appearantly even when paying 5 euros for basic funcionalty like "pause" telenet manages for this basic functionality to suck in the most bad way you have ever seen.
Try stabbing me with THAT
The solution to the UK's knife problems.
No GPS for 'us' ?
Belgian developers of Android apps can’t sell their applications on the Belgian market. Why not?
Gnome-do is mono
I learned in this interesting post that gnome-do is an application written in Mono. I won’t elaborate on why I don’t like this, there are enough flame wars all around the internet/community for any of you to read.
E71 Memory Card Frustrations
I’m getting really frustrated with my Nokia E71. Check out my description of a weird issue:
E71 Memory Card Frustrations [solved]
My problem described in my previous blog post is solved!
I joined the new Linux.com Community today.
Opera goes oldskool
Today is the 15th birthday of the Opera browser. Not really fascinating news, but:
I’m seeing wishlist all around on different personal blogs. So I’ll follow...
Command Line Crime
In an article published on Electronic Frontier Foundation I read that a Boston College student was accused of a crime based on only the assumption that he must be a computer criminal of some sort because he uses 2 operating systems to hide stuff and because he uses a "strange" operating system in which he writes in white on a black background!
Ranting about windows
The client where I’m currently working requires me to use a windows desktop. Altough I really don’t like windows, and I would be much more happy working on Linux, it’s actually not really a problem. I just need putty, that’s all ^^.
The 'irc' guide to screen
After being a reader of Planet Grep for a long time I decided it was time to submit my blog, and look, here I am :-).
I disabled reCaptcha today, and installed the drupal Mollom module.
After having bought my Asus eeepc 900 for about 1 month now, I finally started looking for a solution to my problem; the battery!
Got this funny spam mail in my mailbox.

Home Server SMS - Just For Fun
Yesterday I was kind of bored when I noticed I still had an old Nokia 3110C laying around + a simyo (cheap belgian operator) sim card I didn’t use anymore. I decided it was playtime! Let’s make my homeserver send me some sms’s.
CentOS; My Starter Stuff
Here are some steps I always perform when installing a new server… Some of these steps apply for every new server I install, some are CentOS specific, but believe me, these steps will help you!
Nokia E71 firmware upgrade
I ignored the previous firmware update available for my Nokia E71, as it was just a minor update. But now it seems that there is a rather large firmware upgrade. I really like my symbian powered smartphone, and now with this new firmware I hope I will be able to enjoy it even more!
I submitted Irssibook to the facebook application directory.
(Tip) E71, accents and special characters
I noticed that when you press and hold the ‘Chr’ key, and then simoultaniously press a letter, e.g. the e symbian will cycle through the possible accents that are applicable for that character.
I had a script, this script updated my facebook status from within irssi by using a POST request to the facebook main site. Unfortunately this does not work anymore. Partly because this style of scripting is against the facebook TOS(Terms of Service). As I wanted to continue to be able to update my facebook status from within irssi, but also be compliant to the facebook TOS i decided to create a script that uses the facebook API.
Ik las net:
Heeft net van een goede film genoten ^^.
Ubuntu Intrepid Release Party
Need moar sleepz
Today I realize yet again that I need to sleep more.
You might… or might not… have noticed that bdeferme.net was unreachable the past few days… My bad! I was a few days late with my payment for the dns services, I won’t forget again :-) G
As I was reading through my RSS feeds today I noticed some posts about the new windows, windows 7! I decided to read something about it as I was eager to find out how they would mess it up this time :-)
Guy is right!
Thou shalt not steal...
I've been using my new Nokia E71 for a bit longer then 1 month now so I was thinking it was about time I tell something about it. Please do not think of this post as a full review because it is **not**. It's more like, uuhm, some remarks/notes...

9 Reasons for switching from iPhone to S60
If you are a subscriber to my blog you probably know I'm not an iPhone fan. While reading my rss feeds this morning I 'stumbled upon' a blog post from Tarek Esber, a guy who recently bought an iPhone but wants to go back to S60, and he gives us 9 reasons to do so...
Today my bluetooth GPS kind of melted. When I arrived at my destination I noticed that my cellphone reported "No GPS Device Found".
Wordpress <> delicious.com synchronisation script
To post the 'The Internets @ ...' posts I am using a perl script originally written by Stephen.

The Dark Knight
Finally went to see The Dark Knight and I must say, this one is amazing.
“Eén teken in een sms is 8 bit, zijnde 1 byte. Er kunnen 160 tekens in één sms, zijnde 160 byte. 160 byte = gemiddeld 10 cent voor een sms. 1KB is dan 64 cent. 1MB is dan 655,36 euro. 1GB is dan 671.088,64 euro. 100GB is dan 67.108.864 euro. Zevenenzestig miljoen euro (!) voor 100GB dataverkeer.” sandervdm.blogspot.com
Serieus msn dumbness?
Are you stupid?
2 quotes van gisteren die voor hilariteit zorgden...
Dell Studio Hybrid
The Dell Studio Hybrid looks like a very nice product from Dell.
Staatshervorming; Waarom? Daarom!
Waarom is het nu allemaal nodig?
Wat een geweldige start van de dag. Regen, file en nog 20 kilometer te gaan. Dankuwel anders o zo rustige E40 Brussel-Kust.
Actually some nice features in the new wordpress:

3G and QWERTY make my day
Thanks to my 3G enabled full qwerty nokia e61i I'm still able to do some online tasks :-)
iPhone in .be
Watch out for July 11!
The Hunchback Of The Notre Arm
I haven’t been online much in the last few days, I know. Well, this has a perfectly reasonable explanation:
A wordle generated from my delicious account:
Servers in zweden?
iPhone running XP? Guess not...
I just couldn’t resist.
I’m really getting tired of all these ubuntu updates. Got to update almost every day… What a hassle, should maybe switch to debian? But then again, when switching to debian I probably wouldn’t have the nice latest versions of some nice tools like:
iPhone 3G, stay away!
At the Apple WWDC(World Wide Developer Conference), which was launched on monday, Steve Jobs presented the new iPhone 3G. It was supposed to be a big step to the new iPhone 3G. Well here’s how I (and some others) feel about the story.
A cool concept, and funny to play with, use google shell-style:
Delicious and FF3
Change in plan, once again
I will - once again - change this site a bit. I moved to drupal because I liked it a lot, and it is not because of some dislikes that I will (partially) move away from it. You can rather call it:
Catch the pigeon!
To a country far away!
… or not?
Grumpy Security [repeated]
Again, I encountered the anger of a grumpy security guy, oh wait no it was a woman this time…
Zarafa, an Exchange killer
From the zarafa website:
Gozerbot markov madness
A friend of mine recently discovered and installed yet another irc bot, but this one was special :-).
Mysql Migration Toolkit on CentOs 4.4 - AHRG
Today I was trying to dump an oracle database into a mysql dumpfile, and no mather what I tried (using the mysql migration toolkit on windows) it always failed… The first try gave me some import errors telling me that there was an invalid value ‘x0′ in the field lists, google didn’t help me :( The second try gave me no import errors but I ended up with a really weird mysql database changing the row count from a specific table on each query (without modifying the database in between).
I must say, being a security guy looks really really boring and lonesome to me! I had to be at a client today (and yesterday) and what I noticed was that every time I signed myself in or out, the security guy was soooo fr*cking grumpy! He would look angry, talk angry (throw with stuff!) and not be friendly at all.
As my blog is up and running again, although the domain name has been changed I hope to be more active on my blog again and I will start with some good news!
OTS - Open Text Summarizer
Today I read about a tool that’s called OTS (Open Text Summarizer) on the debian package of the day website. It summarizes a text using word frequency to prepare a list of keywords and assign priority to sentences based on that frequency. Time to test it?
Geekness conquers man's instinct
Haha, this IRC Quote is too funny!! It’s in dutch, so I’m sorry for those who don’t speak it, no fun for you this time :-).
As we got our new serenity server we decided to use ISPConfig to enable us to easely create hosting plans/clients/sites so that we can offer these services in the not so far future. ISPConfig is actually very easy to use, and works fine but I do have some remarks:
I’m now in week 6 of my Internship @ option (option website) and I like it a lot so far.
