I submitted Irssibook to the facebook application directory, and this is what I received: Hi Bert,<br /><br />Thanks for your submission of "irssibook" (38098879188) to Facebook Platform's Product Directory. Unfortunately, Facebook can only provide developer support in English (US) at this time. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but the rest of this email is in English (US): <br /><br />We have reviewed your application, and unfortunately cannot yet add it to the directory at this time. It is a violation of the User Terms of Use (http://www.facebook.com/terms.php) for users to "use automated scripts to collect information from or otherwise interact with the Service or the Site". Please fix this problem and resubmit the application. Thanks! The Facebook Platform Team :-( |

In the past, I had a script, this script updated my facebook status from within irssi by using a POST request to the facebook main site. Unfortunately this does not work anymore. Partly because this style of scripting is against the facebook TOS(Terms of Service). As I wanted to continue to be able to update my facebook status from within irssi, but also be compliant to the facebook TOS i decided to create a script that uses the facebook API. Check it out: |

Alright Mister Alain and plenty of others: You were right and I was wrong. Facebook is absolutely NOT like (sl/n)etlog and others. It's actually ok... |
